Make a PACT in Dunton Green next month

News release issued on 26 February 2008

Residents of Dunton Green are being reminded that they have an opportunity to take part in a consultation event next month to set out what they feel are important issues in their local area.

The Partners and Communities Together (PACT) exercise will take place at Dunton Green Primary School on Wednesday 5 March between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

Any residents can attend and let the Sevenoaks District Community Safety Partnership, who are organising the event, know what their community priorities are by taking part in the consultation, which should take no longer than 30 minutes.

PACT is a new initiative to enable the community to help determine local priorities and get involved in local action. Residents can raise local issues and concerns through PACT panels and workshops with community representatives.

Robin Hales, Chairman of the Sevenoaks District Council Community Safety Partnership, says: “Going into the local communities and speaking to residents is an effective way of getting to know about those important local issues we may otherwise not find out about. I really would urge anyone from Dunton Green to come along on 5 March, and take just 20 to 30 minutes of their time to make us aware of any concerns they may have.”

The event has been organised by the Sevenoaks District Community Safety Partnership which brings together all the agencies in the District that can have an impact on crime, anti-social behaviour and the fear of crime.

The Partnership includes Kent Police, Kent County Council, the Youth Offending Service, the Primary Care Trust, representatives of the Voluntary Sector, West Kent Housing Association, Moat Housing, Kent Fire & Rescue Service, the National Probation Service and Sevenoaks District Council.
