Council seeks views on its accounts

News release issued on 24 September 2007

Sevenoaks District Council is keen to hear local people's views on how it presents financial information to the public.

Every year, the Council produces a summary annual statement of accounts, which sets out where the Council spends its annual £16 million budget and where the money comes from.

As Council finance can be complex and a challenge to communicate, the Council is always looking at new ways of presenting its summary statement of accounts, possibly by producing a more user friendly version.

If any residents would like to help the Council decide what financial information to include and how it should be presented in a future financial summary, they can view the current summary and complete a simple online questionnaire on the Council's website, www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/finance

Alternatively paper copies of the summary and the questionnaire are available on request by calling the Council on 01732 227000.
