Only a few spaces left on the silver surfer super highway

News release issued on 31 May 2007
Just a few places are available for the next ‘Silver Surfers’ computer course for older Edenbridge residents.

The popular courses aim to give a helping hand to anyone in the Edenbridge area over the age of 65 who has no, or very little, previous experience of computers.

‘Silver Surfers’ courses are held at Edenbridge Leisure Centre and aim to give people a basic understanding of computers for personal use, and to teach them how to use the Internet, send e-mails and write letters on the computer.

Over 80 local residents have already successfully completed the training course and 60 of them have enjoyed it so much that they have continued their learning by completing an advanced course.

The courses are being organised in partnership with Sevenoaks District Council, West Kent PCT and Sencio Community Leisure as part of the Healthy Edenbridge Project to enhance the health and wellbeing of Edenbridge residents.

For further details of the next available ‘Silver Surfers’ course in Edenbridge please contact Sevenoaks District Council on 01732 227000, or e-mail sus.dev@sevenoaks.gov.uk

The next course begins on Friday 7 June 2007.
