Ghostt get SNAP into the Christmas spirit!

News release issued on 03 December 2007

Young clubbers can get that festive feeling this month, as advance tickets are now available for this year's Christmas SNAP night.

Stars of ITV's X-Factor - Ghostt - will be headlining the event at Sevenoaks Community Centre, Cramptons Road on Saturday 15 December and tickets are selling fast!

The event runs from 7pm to 10pm, with Sevenoaks based grime/hip-hop artists Street Vetirans also appearing on stage along with SNAP regular DJ Ignition who will be firing up the crowd for the Christmas holidays with all the best dance, chart and party tunes.

Tickets are on sale now from Sevenoaks Leisure Centre for £5 each and clubbers are advised to buy them early to avoid disappointment. Any remaining tickets will be available on the door.

Ghostt were one of six groups who reached the final round at X Factor's Boot Camp. Their mix of soul and R 'n' B has earned them a fantastic following with comparisons being drawn between the three-piece band and Boyz to Men.

Street Vetirans influences include Dizzee Rascal, Example and Skinnyman and their lyrics relate to young people and their experiences.

The event will have a real seasonal feel with Christmas novelty items on sale, as well all the normal SNAP offerings like the message board where clubbers can write messages to their mates and make new friends, the Chill Out room to kick back and relax in and the RE-Energise Bar where glow items and refreshments are available.

There will also be the opportunity for clubbers to find out more about staying safe while out and about, improve their knowledge about drugs, alcohol and smoking or chat to a youth worker about any issues concerning them.

Cllr Felicity Broomby, Cabinet Member with responsibility for young people, says: "This SNAP night is a great chance to celebrate the end of school term and really get in the mood for Christmas. But tickets always sell quickly for these events, so anyone who wants to come along should buy their ticket as soon as possible to make sure they don't miss out on all the fun."

SNAP is a cigarette, alcohol and drug free club night. Clubbers are searched on entry, to help create a safe environment.

SNAP is part of the Crimestoppers national campaign against drug related crime and encourages young people to be aware of the risks associated with legal and illegal drugs and alcohol and to phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 with any information on drug related crime.
