Have your say at a listening day!

News release issued on 23 August 2007

Councillors and officers from Sevenoaks District Council will be taking to the streets during September to hear the concerns of local people and give them the chance to comment on the Council's budget proposals. There will also be an opportunity to meet the local Police Community Support Officer.

The Council is holding three 'Listening Days' during the month to allow people to put across their views and suggestions in person to their local District Councillors, members of the Council's Cabinet and Council staff.

Running from 11am to 1pm, the events will take place on:

Residents will also have the opportunity to find out where the Council currently spends tax payers' money and help the authority decide its budget priorities for the next year by completing a questionnaire.

Cllr Peter Fleming, Leader of the Council, says: "Being open and accessible to the general public is extremely important, and I would really encourage residents of the District to come along to these events to have their say on local issues. It is vital for us to get feedback so we can plan how we and our partners provide important local services, and meet the needs of our residents."
