Young People's Action Plan 2009 - 2012

The Young People's Action Plan sets out what we are going to do for children and young people living in the Sevenoaks District between now and March 2012.

The Plan is a partnership document and cannot be delivered without the valuable input of our Partners in the voluntary and statutory sectors and there are lots of different organisations signed up to help us.

In 2008 we sent out thousands of surveys to discover what is important to young people and to find out their ideas about how to tackle some of the problems facing young people, such as bullying, staying healthy and staying safe. Young people also gave their suggestions about how to deal with young people people who get involved in anti-social behaviour and crime.

Questionnaires were sent out to schools and youth groups and we had more than 3000 completed questionnaires returned. That's 21% of the young people living in the Sevenoaks District and a really extensive consultation.

The actions in the Plan aim to respond to the answers given by the children and young people and also fit in with national and local plans set out by the Government and organisations like Kent County Council and also plans developed by other teams within Sevenoaks District Council. There are 12 key action points in the plan. Follow this link to see them at a glance Key Action Points ( PDF File 404KB file details).
