In the Zone at Easter 2010
Free Family Fun Days in the Easter holidays in 2010!
Join us for fun filled days of workshops, games and fun this Easter. The In the Zone Team have packed the van with games, toys, activities and arts and crafts and will be travelling to 4 indoor venues and 2 recreation grounds across the District during the Easter holidays this year.
All the activities are free and there is no need to book - just turn up.
All children must be accompanied by a parent or carer. The Zone Team will be on hand to run games and help families make the most of the activities on offer, but cannot take responsibility for individual children.
Each day, the fun starts at 11.00am and finishes at 3.30pm.
- Tuesday 6 April - Inclusive games and sports such as Boccia and New Age Kurling. Plus join in with fun and games and arts and crafts to take home
Swanley Youth Centre, St Mary's Road, Swanley
- Wednesday 7 April - Try out the bouldering climbing wall - can you cling on? Plus join in with games, circus skills and arts and crafts to take home
The Edenbridge Centre, Four Elms Road, Edenbridge
- Thursday 8 April - ever been part of a human table football table? Try it out with us today or come and make some pompoms and join our Cheerleading Dance workshop too!
Sevenoaks Community Centre, Crampton's Road, Sevenoaks
- Friday 9 April - Time to glide or wobble your way around our indoor ice rink! Skates will be provided. Plus fun and games and arts and crafts to take home
Horton Kirby Village Hall, Horton Road, South Darenth
- Thursday 15 April - Skateboard and BMX coaching with Skaterham from 1.30 - 3.30pm. Plus games and arts and crafts to take home. Please bring your own boards and bikes, helmets will be provided.
Greatness Recreation Ground, Mill Lane, Sevenoaks
- Friday 16 April - Skateboard and BMX coaching with Skaterham from 1.30 - 3.30pm. Plus games and arts and crafts to take home. Please bring your own boards and bikes, helmets will be provided.
Swanley St Mary's Recreation Ground, St Mary's Road, Swanley
Please note, the skate coaching events are dependant on the weather!
Loads of families joined in with our activities last year - here is what happened last Easter:
252 children and young people joined the staff in venues across the District for fun and games, arts and crafts and sports. Lots of parents and carers joined in the fun - even taking part in the X Factor style dance workshop in Westerham!
A reminder of the activities we did:
- fun fitness circuits challenge using skill, agility, balance, speed and silliness!
- Futsal coaching - loads of you joined in with the Brazilian small sided football craze!
- Bungee trampolining. Yes it did rain but more than 75 children and young people braved the weather to have a go.
- Scallywags minigym for under 8s. More than 40 toddlers and babies climbed, balanced and tumbled their way through the gym.
- X-Factor Style dance workshop - we danced to music by Beyonce, Alisha Dixon and Flo-Rida - we even had a panel of mini judges!
- Interactive gaming with Batak, Dance-mats, and Nintendo Wii. Who would've thought you could do swimming and long jump in the village hall? Great fun!
