Licence summary
If you use land as a caravan site you may need planning permission and a site licence from the Council. Please click the following link for further information on planning permission.
If planning permission is granted, a Site Licence Application Form must be completed and submitted to the Council by the occupier of the land. The Council must issue a site licence within two months unless the applicant agrees that the period should be longer.
Eligibility criteria
The site licence will have conditions attached to it. Please see the section on site licence conditions for further details.
Licences will not be issued to applicants who have had a site licence revoked within three years of the current application.

Application evaluation process
An application for a site licence is made to the Council in whose area the land situated.
Applications must be in writing, should detail the land the application concerns and any other information required by the Council.
Will tacit consent apply?
No. It is in the public interest that the Council must process your application before it can be granted. If you have not heard back within a reasonable time, please contact the Council's Private Sector Housing team.

Failed application and licence holder redress
You are advised to take up any issues with the Council's Private Sector Housing team.

Complaints
In the event of a complaint relating to a site licence, you should first contact Private Sector Housing. If you feel that your complaint has not been dealt with satisfactorily, you are able to make a formal complaint to the Council.
