Commonwork is a small group of organisations that offer a range of practical, educational activities which explore sustainable issues. Commonwork's services are developed and changed over time to make effective use of available resources of people, place and natural materials. Commonwork is based at Bore Place, a farm and manor house complex in deep countryside, near Chiddingstone in the south of the Sevenoaks District. Commonwork offers the following services and facilities:
A conference and study centre - Residential and day accommodation in and around the historic manor house at Bore Place and surrounded by woodlands, hedgerows and ponds. The facilities are available to hire by public, private and voluntary sector.
A field trail - A 2.5 mile field trail through woodlands and farmland. It is open to the public all year round.
Farm - Produces high quality products, uses land and resources sustainably and participates in Commonwork's development work.
Education programme - Activities are offered at Bore Place for schools, colleges, community groups. Adult courses available include bread making, clay work, birds, moths and bats, ponds and woods, green woodwork and natural gardening.
Food programme - A programme of courses around growing, cooking and eating good food.
Environment Programme - Sustainable estate management and volunteer conservation days.
Workshops & Open Days 2010
Commonwork holds seasonal workshops at Bore Place throughout the year, offering courses on a variety of seasonal subjects.
