Christmas tree recycling

Worried that you will not be able to dispose of your real Christmas tree after this year's festivities have ended? Please worry no more: we will collect your tree for free during our scheduled collections throughout January, and it will be shredded into environmentally friendly compost.

Put your tree at your property boundary after Christmas, and our Garden Waste Collection crew will collect it during their usual fortnightly garden waste collection round.

Trees should be placed where you normally put your refuse and recycling sacks, the night before your scheduled garden waste collection day. Your tree will not be taken unless it is at your property boundary and placed out on the correct day.

If you want to know the exact day on which your road is scheduled for the fortnightly garden waste collection, call us on 01732 227000 or e-mail to information@sevenoaks.gov.uk.

Trees with an 89mm (3.5" in diameter) or smaller trunk will be collected until Tuesday 31 January. Your tree will not be taken if it is decorated or in a pot or stand of any kind!

If your tree's trunk is more than 89mm (3.5" in diameter), it can be taken to Kent County Council's Dunbrik Household Recycling site in Sundridge, or to its Pedham Place (Teardrop Centre), Farningham Hill, site in Swanley and placed in a garden waste container. Happy Christmas!
