Architects
The Royal Institute of British Architects is a world wide organisation, with more than 32,000 members in over 100 countries.
It is a registered charity, whose aims are 'The advancement of architecture and the promotion of the acquirement of the knowledge of the arts and sciences connected therewith'.
The RIBA provides support and guidance to its membership and regulates their conduct.

Business Link
Advice is given to aid access to grants from local, UK and European funding to deliver a wide range of subsidised business support services to organisations in Kent. Working under contract to the Government's Small Business Service, Business Link is the local route to nationally supported business assistance. Free advice is currently on offer to Farmers to support and aid diversification.
Campaign to Protect Rural England
CPRE campaign about issues facing our countryside (CPRE) and campaign for it to be protected and enhanced for the benefit of everyone. They have launched a website to help you influence planning decisions that affect your towns, cities and countryside.
Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment
The Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) is the Governments advisor on and the champion for architecture in England. Their function is to promote high standards in the design of buildings and the spaces between them. They are there to help and offer advice to all those who create, manage and use the built environment.
English Heritage
English Heritage are the Governments advisor for Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas. Their web site contains details of all Listed Buildings within the area.
Government Office for the South East
The Government Office for the South East (GOSE) represents central government in the South East, particularly the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister; the Departments for Education and Skills; Trade and Industry; Transport; Culture, Media and Sport; Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; the Home Office. GOSE works to influence, contract and develop government programmes and initiatives at a regional and local level, by working in partnership with relevant organisations to meet local needs.
High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)
The High Weald AONB is a government designation to conserve and enhance areas of precious countryside. The designation covers much of Sussex and parts of Kent and Surrey.
Kent Architecture Centre
The Kent Architecture Centre (AC) is an independent company limited by guarantee, created in 1995 by a consortium including Kent County Council, Medway Council and SEEDA. It makes a significant contribution to the urban renaissance of the South East Region through action to improve both the built environment and the quality of life of residents in the region's urban areas.
Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)
The Kent Downs AONB is a government designation to conserve and enhance areas of precious countryside. The designation covers a quarter of Kent from the White Cliffs of Dover to the London and Surrey borders.
Planning Aid South East
Planning aid is a free, voluntary service offering independent professional advice and help on planning issues. The service offered has recently been greatly increased by additional government grants and funding. The service is aimed at individuals, community groups and other voluntary groups who cannot afford to pay for private consultants.

The Planning Inspectorate deals with all the appeals on planning applications in England and Wales and are an executive arm of the Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions.

Planning on-line provides details of all current and historic planning applications within Sevenoaks District.
Planning Portal
The Planning Portal provides a comprehensive planning service including government legislation, guidance notes, links to further information and the ability to submit applications on line and in some cases view local authorities Development Plans and maps.
Planning users' concordat
The Planning User's Concordat provides the basis for partnership between central and local government to deliver a modernised planning system. The concordat sets out the roles, priorities of all parties involved in the planning system.
Royal Town Planning Institute
The Royal Town Plannign Institute (RTPI) exists to advance the science and art of town planning for the benefit of the public. Town planning involves much more than planning towns, and is often referred to simply as 'planning'. The RTPI is a membership organisation, and a registered charity. Most of its members are fully qualified professional planners. Nearly two thirds work as planning officers for local councils. Others work for central government, for property developers and other organisations with significant landholdings.
South East England Development Agency - SEEDA
South East England Development Agency is one of the nine regional development agencies created by the Government in the UK.
