Planning Offices

The Council operates a daily planning reception in its Sevenoaks offices and a Planning Surgery on set days in the Edenbridge Local Office.

Sevenoaks Planning Reception

The Sevenoaks Planning reception is open Monday to Thursday 8.45am to 5pm and Friday 8.45am to 4.45pm and is staffed by an Information Officer. Please note we must ask that all visitors vacate the building by the closing times stated above so please allow sufficient time for your visit.

The following are the main services we can provide:

Take receipt of applications including payments (Note: We are unable to check that submitted applications are valid)
View current and recent planning applications
Planning history relating to individual properties
Access to the Planning Portal, including the Interactive House Guide giving guidance on whether permission is needed
Copies of documents, e.g. decision notices, officer reports, plans etc (Please note there may be a charge for this service)
Information on the extent of Conservation Areas, whether buildings are Listed, whether trees are protected, and limited access to public drainage maps (Note: drainage within the curtilage of a property is not normally available)
Access to view a full planning file, although appropriate notice is required for this service
Planning application forms and Building Control application forms (these are available to download and print online).

Note: We cannot provide access to a Planning Officer. If you do need to speak to a Planning Officer about a general enquiry you should telephone the Duty Planning Officer.

If you do require specific advice on a particular proposal, you should submit details for a formal response using a pre-application advice form.

Viewing Planning Files

We will require at least two working days notice to view working (current) and archived files in the Planning Reception. The period of notice may be longer if the file is archived. We will inform you if this is the case. As space is limited in the planning reception area all customers who request to view files will be given an appointment date and time.

Edenbridge Planning Surgery

The Edenbridge Planning Surgery is staffed by a Planning Officer and is open on alternate Thursdays from 10am to 12.30pm for planning advice.
