We investigate complaints about noise from commercial and domestic sources. We usually provide this service during normal office hours.

For some noise problems, like car alarms and burglar alarms, that affect a large number of people, we operate a quick response service Monday to Fridays 9am to 4pm by calling 01732 227000. Outside of these hours contact 01732 462222, we may not be able to send an officer out but will deal with it on the next working day.

Noise from construction sites
Permitted hours for building companies working in the Sevenoaks District area undertaking works which can be heard outside of the building site are:

Monday to Friday - 8am to 6pm
Saturday - 8am to 1pm
Sundays and Bank Holidays - no works

The only exceptions to this are emergency works, those that would be a danger if performed during these times or those, which have a serious disruption to traffic during these times.

DIY projects are not normally restricted to these times but you should show consideration for your neighbours. Working hours may be restricted by the Council of it is felt necessary or if a nuisance is being caused.
