Site Inspections

Various stages of building work will need to be inspected by our officers. We will respond to site inspection requests within 24 hours. Any inspections booked before 10 am may be carried out on that day subject to staffing levels, however we would appreciate as much notice before beginning work (PDF 19kb) as possible in order that our officers can schedule their calls in the most effective and efficient way possible.

If possible please try and give one day's notice before:

The work starts
Excavation of foundations or trial holes
Foundation concrete
Damp proof course
Oversite (the hardcore materials before the top concrete surface is laid)
Drainage pipes in place prior to backfilling

Please do not contact us any later than five days after:

Drainage pipes testing after backfilling

Completion

Additional inspections
It would be advisable for us to check other elements of the building work, depending upon the type of project you are undertaking. The additional inspections you may need are:

Floor joists

Roof joists/ Plate level

Soil and vent pipe test

Steel and concrete support beams

Soakaway

Cesspool

Insulation

Partitioning
