The Why Weight Plan is a 12 week weight management course run by NHS Dietician’s. It focuses on helping people to understand the relationship between food, exercise and weight control. Each weekly session focuses on a particular subject, such as food labels, portion sizes, eating out etc. At the end of each session there is the chance to take part in an optional 30 minute gentle exercise class specifically for Why Weight Plan members only.
Why Weight is for anyone, over 18, who is overweight. If you want to join, this can be done in 2 ways:
1) You can speak to your GP, Practice Nurse or a health professional for advice and a referral onto the course and once the referral is received one of the dieticians will contact you.
2) You can contact a dietician in your area directly to refer yourself:
The Why Weight 12 week course is free to residents of Sevenoaks District and available in the following areas from January 2009:
