Get S.O.R.T.ed

A healthier lifestyle has just become easier with the Sevenoaks OutReach Team (Get S.O.R.T.ed) 

What is Get S.O.R.T.ed? 

If you would like free help to become more physically active or fancy getting tips to make healthier food choices, then Get S.O.R.T.ed is for you.  The project aims to help you to make small changes towards a healthier lifesGet S.O.R.T.ed logotyle. 

If you ever wanted tips to improve your diet, help to encourage you to become a little more active or just general information regarding healthier living then just meet the Get S.O.R.T.ed team - it’s a great place to start!  This project is currently available for people over 16 years old.

Why Get S.O.R.T.ed? 

Get S.O.R.T.ed is part of the 'Sevenoaks District Healthy Lifestyles Project' co-ordinated by Sevenoaks District Council in partnership with Sencio Community Leisure and jointly funded by West Kent Primary Care Trust.  It is community outreach programme which offers individual healthy lifestyle advice and support.  This enable people to make small changes, which make a big difference to their health and wellbeing long term.  Get S.O.R.T.ed is delivered as part of the priorities within the Sevenoaks District Sustainable Community Plan and the government's national 'Choosing Health' Agenda, which aims to make healthier choices easier.

How does it work?

Its easy! 
A member of the Get S.O.R.T.ed team will chat to you to learn about your current lifestyle.  Using their nutrition and fitness expertise, they will work with you and  help you begin to make small and manageable changes to improving your health. 

The team will be able to give free nutritional advice and give you ideas of activities and projects in your area that you may want to try. The choice is yours!

How do I get involved?

The team regularly visits the Swanley area, in places such as ASDA, the library and Swanley market, so you can just turn up and meet them, it's free.  The team is also be available to visit a workplace or community group in other areas of the District to give advice on diet, nutrition and physical activity; just call for more information.
