Local government services
Three levels of local government provide provide public services to the people in the District - county, district and town or parish councils.

Kent County Council provides education, social services and highways amongst other services across Kent, except in the Medway Council area.

Sevenoaks District Council provides more local services such as refuse collection and planning.

There are also 29 parish councils. Parish councils provide a range of very local services.
Additional public services are provided by the police, housing associations and local health authorities in the area.
