Kent County Council (KCC) provides services over the whole of Kent, except in the Medway Council area.

KCC has 84 elected members. Elections take place every four years with the next ones due in May 2009.

Within Kent there are 12 district councils which provide more local services, such as street cleaning and refuse collection.
