The Council's constitution
The Council's Constitution sets out how the Council operates, how decisions are made and the Council's procedures that help ensure its operation and decisions are efficient, transparent and accountable to local people. The Constitution was formally adopted on 25th September 2007.
The Constitution is divided into 13 Parts and 21 Appendices that set out the basic rules governing the Council's business. These are:
