Secure online sign up for Direct Debit

Direct Debit is the Council's preferred method of payment. It is a convenient way to pay your tax and the cost of administering payments is low therefore helping to keep your Council Tax bill down.

Click the following link to securely set up your Direct Debit instruction online.

Taxpayers opting to pay by Direct Debit receive the following benefits:

• choice of payment dates
• pay monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annually
• only complete one form
• have an indemnity guarantee should an error occur
• no cheques to write, no postage, no queuing at a bank

Alternatively you can telephone the Council Tax section to give your details over the phone, a form can be sent, or you can get the Council Tax Direct Debit Mandate ( PDF 120k file details) here, complete it and send it back to the Council. Once the instruction is in operation, you should not need to worry about arranging payments - let the Council and the bank do that for you.
