Advice and further information

There are many external sources of advice and further information published by the agencies or government departments involved in the administration of Benefits as well as charitable or voluntary organisations.

For general guidance about Public Services, including a beginner's guide to Benefits, visit www.direct.gov.uk

For advice specific to people of working age visit the Jobcentre Plus website.

For advice aimed at retired people or those who are about to retire visit the Pension Service web pages covering Pension Credits.

Confidential and free advice is also available from the network of Citizens Advice Bureaux. Their website contains a wide range of fact sheets and frequently asked questions. Alternatively contact your local Citizens Advice Bureaux.

To find out more about the role of the Valuation Office (formerly known as the Rent Service) visit its website.
