Communications Team

Sevenoaks District Council's Communications Team has a wide-ranging remit for internal and external communications.

Media relations

We act as the Council's press office and deal with around 700 to 800 media enquiries a year from journalists representing local, national and specialist media as well as press agencies. We are available to deal with media enquiries during the Council's normal opening times.

We also issue around 350 new releases every year. These can be viewed via the news section on this website. Releases can be sent to interested parties via e-mail on request.

External communications

The Team produces a number of Council publications, including In Shape, which is published and sent to every home and business three times a year, the A to Z, Welcome to Sevenoaks District and the Council Tax and Performance leaflet. The Team also leads on some consultation exercises with the local community, including listening days and user satisfaction surveys. We also publish the Council's public notices in two local newspapers - the Sevenoaks Chronicle and the Swanley Times. The public notices can also be viewed on the Council's website.

The Communications Team is responsible for overall managment of the Council's website. Click on the following link for more information about this website.

Internal communications

The Communications Team is responsible for ensuring that good two-way communications exist with staff. We produce weekly bulletins for our Councillors and a monthly bulletin and a quarterly newsletter for staff.

Filming requests

Those interested in filming in Sevenoaks District must seek permission of the relevant landowner.

The Communications Team can help you gain permission to film on land or facilities that are Sevenoaks District Council's responsibility. These are limited to the Council's offices, its depot, some woodlands and recreations grounds, some car parks and other small areas of land.

The Communications Team may be able to inform you of the relevant landowner if you have a particular location in mind. Alternatively contact the Land Registry at Tunbridge Wells 01892 510015 or visit www.landsearch.net.

Contact the Communications Team to find out about parking exemptions for filming.
