Major consultations

The Council carries out regular consultations with local people, its customers and partners to establish current and future priorities and needs of its residents.

Residents' Panel

The Council set up a Residents' Panel in September 2002, after invitations and questionnaires were sent out randomly to residents across the District. The panel is made up of around 1,000 local people.

The Panel provides a unique opportunity to gain the views and opinions of a cross-section of the local community on a regular basis. The views gained through the Residents’ Panel are fed into all aspects of the Council’s decision making.

Consultation is carried out as part of Internal Service Inspections (ISIs) whereby we review our services and draw up action plans to improve them.

In addition, the Council also carried out significant consultations with residents for the development of Sevenoaks District Community Plan.
