Sevenoaks District Community Plan

The Sevenoaks District Sustainable Community Action Plan 2010-2013

Sevenoaks District Council officially adopted the revised Sustainable Community Action Plan 2010-2013 ( PDF File 1796KB file details) on 30th March 2010.  The plan was produced by the Sevenoaks District Local Strategic Partnership and sets out the priorities for many local services, both public and voluntary, across the District for the next three years.

The new plan was officially launched at the free family fun day, which took place on 2 June and was well received by more than 800 Sevenoaks residents.

The plan will work together with the Local Development Framework (LDF) in order to maximise benefits for local people.  The LDF sets out guidelines on how land should be developed over the next 25 years and will replace the current local plan in the coming years.

The first Community Plan, called "Making it Happen - together", was published in April 2004 and set out a vision for the District for a 10 year period.  The Plan is reviewed every three years to ensure that actions are updated and the plan remains relevant to the changing needs of the District.

The Sustainable Community Action Plan 2010 - 2013 was drawn up following extensive consultation by the Council and its partners with residents, interest groups and local organisations over the past year.

Cllr Peter Fleming, the Leader of Sevenoaks District Council, says: "A great deal of consultation and planning went into the next three year phase of the Plan, which will steer how public and voluntary services will be delivered over the next three years. I'd like to personally thank everyone who took part and gave us their time and views."

The key themes of the plan are:
