Applying for benefit

Assistance may be available to help pay your rent and your Council Tax. You don't have to be out of work as some people in work are still eligible. Applications are dealt with by Sevenoaks District Council. Call 01732 227000 or e-mail benefits@sevenoaks.gov.uk. See also the benefits section on this website.

Tips to speed up your benefit payments
To avoid any delays in receiving benefit, contact Job Centre Plus and the Council at the earliest opportunity (even if you've just been told that your job is at risk) so the correct application forms can be sent to you. You can also help by providing the correct documentation as soon as you are asked for it.
