Big Community Fund

The scheme called the ‘Big Community Fund’ makes £120,000 available for local projects. Local Councillors can bid for funds on behalf of organisations to help make improvements to their community.

Grants worth up to £3,000 per application are available, with up to a maximum of £10,000 a month, to help with improvements in communities. Applications are made via local District Councillors. Groups with ideas for the Big Community Fund can find out how to contact their local District Councillor.

A panel of District Councillors evaluate the applications. They take into account the extent to which the application meets the scheme aims, value for money, how local people have been involved in shaping the proposal and local need. Applications need to demonstrate long-term sustainability.

For further information, view our frequently asked questions page or alternatively you can contact your local District Councillor.
