Smokefree legislation

On 1 July 2007 the biggest change of health legislation in the last 50 years took effect.

Smoking is now no longer allowed in the majority of ‘wholly’ or ‘substantially’ enclosed public spaces.

This will bring England in line with the rest of the British Isles who have already implemented smokefree legislation.
