Street Collections

Licence summary

To collect money or sell articles for the benefit of charitable or other purposes in the Sevenoaks District, you will require a street collection licence from Sevenoaks District Council. Failure to have a permit for such a collection is an offence.

Many organisations like using street collections and the Council endeavours to manage this demand to ensure the days available are allocated in a reasonable way. Sevenoaks District Council advise organizations wishing to book a street collection to telephone the Contact Centre on 01732 227000 to ensure the days required are available as only one street collection in any one district is allowed at any time. There is no fee charged for this service.

Consumer complaint

We would always advise that in the event of a complaint the first contact is made with the trader by you - preferably in the form a letter (with proof of delivery). If that has not worked, if you are located in the UK, Consumer Direct will give you advice. From outside the UK contact the UK European Consumer Centre. Alternatively contact Sevenoaks District Council's Licensing Team.
